1. Come to Performing Arts Center during the times posted for auditions. You will have to come for a FULL SESSION (time period). 2. Sign in. You will be given a number that must stay on during the audition. 3. Your group will be on stage together. 4. You will be taught a few short dance combinations that show how good you are at working with a choreographer, listening to directions and "making it work." 5. We are looking for potential rather than training. 6. Each group will be taught the combinations, given time to practice them, and then brought back to stage to performer. 7. Only the director, dance captain and neutral casting person will be in the auditorium with your group. 7. After everyone has danced and we have seen you, you are finished. Take a deep breath, smile and congratulate yourself on getting through it and doing so well!! It should take about an hour and fifteen minutes.
AUDITION TIMES: Wednesday May 25 Session A (6:25 to 7:40 p.m.) Session B (7:45 to 9:00 p.m.) **You only need to attend ONE session, not both
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress for movement! Athletic shoes or dance shoes required (no sandals, dress shoes or slip ons). MEN: Shoes that allow you move and not slip.Tennis shoes or jazz shoes. Shorts, sweats, t-shirts are appropriate. WOMEN: Character shoes are perfect or dance shoe with slight heel. Tennis shoes or jazz shoes also OK. No sandals, slip on or dress shoes (this includes dress heels if not character/dance shoes). Wear skirt with leggings or tights, or shorts so you can feel comfortable moving.
